We have been working with the people at JE on our pistons since 1978.  Through our racing engine research and on track experience we have continuously modified our designs for better performance. We won four SCCA National Championships using the same piston design you can now buy off our shelf. Professional engine builders all over the world use our pistons.

Our JE 2000 big valve 12.5:1 race piston was developed to be as good as the Cosworth pistons costing nearly double the price.  Our pistons will bolt in all but the most severely milled heads and have sufficient clearance. The Cosworth can have interference issues above .020" milling. A set of our pistons is a bargain and make the same power. This 84.5mm piston keeps the displacement under the FIA 2000cc limit.

 

  • Compression of 12.5:1 is measured with the standard 112mm height and 1.4mm Reinze gasket
  • Deepr valve reliefs accommodate most performance cams
  • Larger diameter valve reliefs will accommodate oversize 46mm Intakes and 41mm Exhaust valves.

This piston set includes standard wrist pins (109 grams) and conventional Total Seal Ring Set rings.  You should consider the following upgrades:

  • Upgrade to light weight pins (77 grams) for an additional $60.00.
  • Upgrade to Total Seal gapless second ring set for more HP.  $129.00 extra.
  • Upgrade to Total Seal gapless top ring set for even more HP. $159.00 extra
    (check out HP gains at Total Seal HP Gains).
  • Ceramic dome heat coating and Teflon skirt caoting $239.00 extra. Dome coating holds heat in combustion chamber for more power. This ceramic shield reduces heat transfer and reduces oil temperature. Reduced skirt friction decreases parasetic HP loss.
