"I am very happy with your front axle steering and suspension
kit! The car is much easier to drive. You can use the kurbs without
problems. The steering afford is much less than before. The tyres do
have a better wear pattern because of the added camber in
corners."
This Ultimate upgrade of the Quick Ratio Bumpsteer Handling Kit includes
lower ball joint kits that raised the spindle (lowers the fron end) 1.4" and
does wonders for the suspension geometry. This is a "bolt on" kit except for
drilling steering knuckle to mount the now lower ball joint and setting correct
ride height. The adapters are CNC macined from 4130 Alloy. Spacers furnished
with this kit are specifically designed to reduce bump steer numbers to an
acceptable range. Further refinements can be achieved by adding or subtracting
spacers as necessary. For more info and photos of product installed go to paulspruell.com.
ALUMINUM CR ARMS. Allows quicker turn in response. Reduces movement of
driver's hands. These aluminum steering arms are 1/2" shorter than standard
arms, thus the quicker steering input.
STEERING. This spherical rod end conversion kit eliminates sloppy tie rid
ends, corrects bump steer an vastly improves steering response. These high
quality rod ends eliminate the old ball joint type tie rod end compliance that
prevents crisp turn in. Spherical rod ends also improve top end performance by
eliminating toe out on the straights caused by compliance in the standard tie
rod ends.
LOWER BALL JOINT. This spherical bearing replacement eliminates the gross
amount of compliance of the old Alfa ball joint. The adapter is CNC Machined
from 4140 steel alloy. When installed it raises the spindle 1.4", lowers the car
by the same amount and lowers the roll center of the frond end. It also
effectively lengthens the steering knuckle by 1.4" and increases the angle of
the upper arm the same as the old knucke risers. This increased angle of the
upper arm induces canber gain needed to offset the loss of camber due to roll
when cornering.
This geometry change also lowers the roll center to below the pavement.
The lower tapered hole in the steering knuckle must be drilled out to 5/8" to
install this part. Spring shims may be necessary to restore specified ride
height.
UPGRADE to GTA track rod. For and additional $50.00 you can substitute
lowered track rod that clears the deeper GTA oil pan.
Also this bent rod allows engine/gear box removal with our removing the track
rod.
