A Clutch/Brake Conversion Kit to Tilton, Alfas w/Floor Pedals

This conversion kit is for 105 cars delivered with standing pedals mounted on the floor. It fits all Duettos, Giulia GTs and Giulia Sedans.

Installation.  Kit comes with complete instructions, but please be advised that this is not a "bolt on" job and degree of difficulty depends on an individual's skill.


Performance.  The dual Tilton master cylinders provide incredibly positive braking with normal pedal pressure applied.  No vacuum boost is needed and the increase in stopping power is unquestionable. 

Economy.  Throw away the super expensive ATE and Bonaldi boosters and master cylinders.   You can buy a new replacement Tilton master cylinder for the price of an ATE rebuild seal kit. You can buy this conversion kit for the price of the booster and master cylinders on a 1964-67 model.  You can buy this kit for a fraction of the cost of two boosters, clutch master and brake masters on 1969-70 models. 

Details.  The firewall adapter plate positions the pedal assembly in the same location as the later 105/115 cars with hanging pedal assemblies.  This 3/8" aluminum adapter plate allows you to bolt on the Tilton firewall pedal assembly. Before the pedals can be "bolted" inside the car, it is necessary to cut a 3X6.5 inch window in the firewall and remove the lower 6 inches of the steering column support bracket.  We provide instructions but this is one to two day job.

List of kit parts:  adapter plate, mounting hardware, pedal assembly, cover plate for hole in floor, .875" clutch master kit ,.625" front brake master kit , .700" rear brake master kit . These 74 Series kits include a selection of different size reservoirs.  These master cylinder bore sizes are correct with the OEM ATE or Dunlop calipers. The balance bar that is a part of the pedal assembly allows bias adjustment to get the optimum front/ rear distribution.  For more info please go to: paulspruell.com 

Plumbing kit. Race fabrication shops usually have the necessary brake plumbing supplies on hand to do the relatively simple plumbing connecting the hydraulics.  The creative racer can get most of it at a NAPA store.  

Aftermarket calipers. With different brake calipers, you may need different size masters. You can calculate the sizes using the chart posted under brakes on paulspruell.com . You are welcome to specify different sizes at no additional cost.   

Bias adjuster.  For the street the bias bar set in neutral is usually perfect and any adjustment is a one tine thing.  For the  racer, we recommend the optional driver operated remote. This way, small changes can be explored in test sessions without crawling under the dash to change the bias bar. Also, the driver can make an adjustment on course when conditions change. You can choose from the 72-501 basic model or the 72-408 upgrade model with billet aluminum housing.
