This hardened steel bushing fits all 101-105-115 driveshafts.  It is a press fit into the front of the short shaft where it slides over the rounded tip ("olive") of the gearbox output shaft.  As the drivetrain rotates and transmits power through the rubber flex disc, this bushing keeps the driveshaft centered on the GB output shaft.

THIS COUPLING IS ONE OF THE MOST CRITICAL COMPONENT OF THE DRIVETRAIN!  WORN BUSHINGS CAN CAUSE THE COUPLING TO RUN OFF-CENTER AND DAMAGE THE FLEX DISC.

• Worn bushings can be detected with a digital inspection.  Any wear will be in the form of a distinct divet in the metal wall.
• The "felt pad" shown in the old parts manuals is not necessary.  Packing the bushing with molly axle bearing grease will permanently lube this coupling and prevent rust from forming.
• Make sure to use the rubber seal that sleeves over the tailshaft of the gearbox (called the "olive") and is compressesd against the flat face of the bushing.  Use a new seal to make a snug compression fit that is essential to keeping out grit and moisture.
