Roll pins reduce oil passage diameter 50%, from 5mm to 2.5mm, to increase oil pressure in block to feed the mains.

Viton o-rings seal the oil passage in the head gasket for the life of the engine.  Butyl rubber seals deteriorate with time, heat, oil additives, fuel and other chemical contamination.
